AC Milan set to close 3 transfers within next week
AC Milan are working to complete three signings in the upcoming days with midfield being the transfer priority for now.
The summer transfer window of AC Milan it is finally entering the crucial phase. Having secured around €80 million form the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle, the Rossoneri are closing in on several signings. Transfer market expert Nicolo Schira reports that AC Milan are set to complete three signings within the next week.
The first is that of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The 27-year-old is finally about to join AC Milan after a two months wait. Ironically, the first purchase of Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada is a player whose transfer was already completed by Paolo Maldini in May. AC Milan will pay €15 million to Chelsea for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, plus €4 million in add-ons.
Another signing that is at final details is that of Luka Romero. The highly-rated Argentine talent will join AC Milan on a free transfer from Lazio. The 18-year-old had said yes to a contract proposal from Lazio for almost €1 million per season but he changed his mind after AC Milan expressed interest.
Luka Romero plays as attacking midfielder and right winger. Romero made 21 appearances in two years with Lazio becoming the first player born in 2004 to score in Serie A. The youngster represents Argentine on national team level but he also has a Spanish passport so his signing doesn’t impact the precious non-EU slot available. Despite his young age, Romero will be part of the first for next season.
Next in line on Moncada and Furlani’s list of priorities is the signing of another central midfielder. One between Tijjani Reijnder and Yunus Musah will join AC Milan this summer. Reijnder is Moncada’s prefer option and he’s been pushing a lot for his signing. The 24-year-old had a fantastic season with AZ Alkmaar. Reijnder scored 7 goals and contributed with 12 assists in 54 appearances across all competitions with AZ Alkmaar. The Dutch club have set a price tag of around €20 million for Reijnder.
Yunus Musah was very close to joining Inter in January but a transfer never materialized. This time Valencia need to sell due to financial reasons and Musah is one of their most prized assets. The 20-year-old American central midfielder is a key player for Valencia and already has 24 national team appearances. The Spanish club are currently asking a fee of €30 million but the player’s agent is working on a figure close to €20 million.
